Making Television Steps
Step One – Membership
Becoming a member of FACT is easy! All you have to do is attend one of our orientation classes and live within our coverage area. If you live outside of our coverage area, don’t worry! You can still become a member by completing five hours of volunteer labor for FACT within six months.
Step Two – Training
Our training program is designed to help you create better media. In order to access any of our free equipment, you must pass our Digital Production 101 class. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and improve your media making abilities. So don’t hesitate to sign up and join us in the class, it’ll be a fun and informative experience!
Step Three – Production
By using FACT’s production equipment for free, the media you create will be featured on one of our two channels or on our website and social media pages. It’s a great way to get your work seen by a wider audience and gain exposure for your talents.
Production Options
FACT offers many options in helping you get your program up and running.
Make Your Own Program
Falls Area Community Television (FACT) specializes in helping individuals create their own media. We achieve this by providing members with access to our equipment, facilities, and training at no cost.
The Production Contract is a crucial aspect of community production at FACT. It serves as an agreement between you and us that outlines the terms of using our cameras, lights, microphones, editing equipment, and live studio facilities. In exchange for using our equipment, we require that any productions created must be aired on FACT’s channels. Members are permitted to use equipment and facilities for a limited period of time, provided that certain conditions are met:
- Equipment is only issued to members in good standing who have completed training on the equipment they are requesting to use.
- Productions created with FACT equipment must be aired on our channels.
- The producer must hold sole ownership of the program.

Get Your Program Televised
Falls Area Community Television (FACT) is dedicated to providing a platform for local voices and perspectives, by operating two dynamic cable television channels available on Comcast, VTel, and Spectrum. These channels serve the vibrant communities of the Greater Rockingham Area in Vermont and Keene, New Hampshire, and are accessible to over 20,000 cable-subscribing households.
As a member-driven organization, FACT offers a variety of ways for residents within our service area to showcase their unique perspectives and talents through programming submissions. Whether you’re a filmmaker, musician, or simply want to share a story that matters to you, FACT is committed to amplifying your voice and showcasing your content on our channels.
In-Studio Programming
At FACT, we pride ourselves on offering a wide variety of programming options to our audience. One of the most beloved and well-received formats among our viewers is our In-Studio Programs. These shows are fully produced in-house, with the invaluable support of our talented technical team. With the flexibility of either weekly or bi-weekly production schedules, and minimal technical requirements, these programs provide an excellent opportunity for creators to share their ideas and stories with our audience. Additionally, In-Studio Programs can be submitted as either a one-time “Special” or an ongoing “Series” program. Special programs are given a professional introduction and standard graphics to enhance the viewing experience.
Pre-recorded Programming
At FACT, we welcome pre-recorded program submissions from members and non-members alike. Whether you’re a one-time creator with a stand-alone program or a seasoned producer with an ongoing series, we have options for you!
Our “Special” program format is perfect for creators who have a one-time show that they’d like to share with our audience. These programs are scheduled based on the availability of time slots, so it’s a great option for those who want to get their work on air quickly.
For those who have a series of episodes they’d like to share, our “Series” format is the way to go. The series contract and time slot lasts until January of the next year, and the time slot may be changed at FACT’s discretion. This option is perfect for those who want to build an audience over time and share their stories in a more in-depth way.
Please note that while any resident in our service area can submit a special program as a non-member, series programs always require membership with FACT. We look forward to seeing what you have to share!
