THE LEGAL VOTERS OF SAXTONS RIVER VILLAGE ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED AND WARNED TO MEET AT 7:00 PM ON MONDAY, APRIL 14, 2025 AT MAIN STREET ARTS, 35 MAIN STREET, TO TAKE ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING ARTICLES:
ARTICLE 1: To elect a Moderator.
ARTICLE 2: To hear and approve the reports of the Trustees, Treasurer, Auditors, Fire Department, FAST Squad, Tax Collector, Delinquent Tax Collector, ARPA allocations, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Recreation Center, Saxtons River Park Committee, minutes of the 2024 Annual Meeting and Windham County Sheriff.
ARTICLE 3: To elect the following officers, to wit: Three Trustees, Treasurer, Tax Collector,
Collector of Delinquent Taxes, Village Clerk, and up to Three Auditors.
ARTICLE 4: To see if the voters will vote to assess a tax on the Grand List of the Village for general operating expenses, the indebtedness of the Village and interest for the ensuing year; and if so, how much.
ARTICLE 5: To see what action the voters will take in relation to the collection of taxes. ARTICLE 6: To see if the voters will authorize the Treasurer, subject to the approval of the Trustees, to borrow money, if necessary, to pay the current operating expenses of the Village prior to the collection of taxes.
ARTICLE 7: Shall the Village vote to continue that overdue taxes will bear interest at a rate of one per cent per month or fraction thereof for the first three months and thereafter no more than one-and-a-half percent per month or fraction thereof from the due date of such tax pursuant to 32 V.S.A. 5136.
ARTICLE 8: Shall the Village vote to continue that sewer charges will bear interest at a rate of one per cent per month or fraction thereof for the first three months and thereafter no more than one-and-a-half percent per month or fraction thereof from the due date of such charges pursuant to 32 V.S.A. 5151(c).
ARTICLE 9: Should the Village compensate the Delinquent Tax Collector with one half the interest collected on overdue tax and sewer payments in addition to the 8 per cent penalty for overdue payments.
ARTICLE 10: To transact any other business proper to be brought before this meeting.
